Large tankard

Large stoneware tankard thrown on the wheel by Harriet Coleridge. Glazed with a carbon trap shino with sparing wax decoration and a sprinkling of rose ash. Reduction fired in a gas kiln to 1280 C. Liquid platinum lustre applied by brush (bands at top and bottom and on leaf motif) and fired on at 730 C. Potter’s mark centre front top. This shino glaze is highly reflective which makes it hard to photograph.
