Unravel Hooped Allotment Vessel

£180.00

Kathryn Hearn lives in the Cambridgeshire Fens and her work reflects its visual resonance and its attitudes. This work refers to a series of vessels she made working on her allotment during Covid 19 in Lockdown. The construction of these handbuilt porcelain work with Dolomite glazes acknowledge the casual and utilitarian nature of how allotmenteers use whatever is to hand to make it function. As long as it works it doesn’t matter exactly or what it looks like. It must keep pests away, protect from the weather and prop up growing crops. However they largely have limited resilience beyond that season.
