Small Tea Bowl with Perched Wren

An beautifully crafted  piece of ceramic fine art by Sarah Dalton – the form of which is inspired by traditional miniature tea bowls of Japan. The fine white earthenware provides an ideal for Sarah’s artwork; created using a combination of underglazes, oxides and engobes (with satin matte overglaze). The painted wren and branches, set against a backdrop of wild landscape aim to reflect the atmosphere of the North Pennine Dales where Sarah lives and works. A really eye-catching interior features a unique turquoise-green glaze with tiny metallic flecks. The artist’s initials are inscribed into the base.
