Large Footed Raku Bowl

£140.00

Handmade by Debbie Barber using white stoneware clay. The bowl is slip cast and the foot is handmade and applied. The piece is burnished and biscuit fired in an electric kiln. Resist slip and glaze is applied and the design is drawn through using wooden tools. Copper lustre is used to enhance decoration. It is then Raku fired in a gas kiln, cleaned and then polished using clear beeswax.

Naked raku ceramics are not glazed and are therefore not watertight. They are for decorative use only. Their beauty is in their fragility and delicate smoke patterning.

Care Instructions: Wipe with a soft cloth or with a damp sponge. Beeswax furniture polish may be used to restore the shine.
