Anagama 3 shells tsubo

£150.00

Anagama fired jar from the May firing at the Oxford anagama kiln.  The pots went in the kiln completely unglazed and were wood-fired for 3 days and 3 nights. The kiln reached 1300 degrees C which means the clay is absolutely vitrified. All the colours, hues and marks are the result of flames and ash in the kiln atmosphere. The trio of unglazed areas on the shoulder of the pot mark where 3 shells were sitting, to create a pattern. There is a long bidiro, almost reaching my maker’s mark at the bottom of the pot.
