Laura grew up in the North East of England. In 2018 she spent 3 months working for a family run pottery in Mashiko, Japan. Both places have influenced her work a great deal. A large part of her practice is centered around collaboration and giving over part of the making process to the materials. In Japan she focused on wood firing unglazed ware, allowing the atmosphere of the kiln to have it’s say in the work. More recently she has been exploring assembling thrown pieces.
