I trained in the 'eighties under Alan Caiger Smith and have had studios since then in Hampshire, America and, now, Ewelme in Oxfordshire. These days I work in stoneware and porcelain, specialising in carbon trap shino glazes. These are diverse and somewhat mysterious and benefit from ferocious reduction. The effects are enhanced by wax, sprinklings of rose ash and gold lustre brushwork. When I can, I fire pots in two anagama kilns - one in the Charente, France and one in Wytham Woods near Oxford (as part of The University Kiln Project).
